The value of private companies such as SpaceX and Twitter is sometimes hard to divine. The value of SpaceX comes from a secondary sale of privately owned shares late in 2024. The value of X is up for debate.

Tesla's stock fell sharply as Musk took over Trump's DOGE commission early in 2024 and startled dismantling many government agencies. When Musk said he was retreating from DOGE in late April and returning to his companies full-time, Tesla's stock rose. Go figure.
